Hannah’s Angels

Hannah's Angels

Sometimes it takes a sign, an extra sort of push, to dedicate yourself to something new—and for Amanda Keeney that process didn’t come so easy. She has achieved so much since saying “yes” to the Opportunity and we here at the Tupperware Home Office are so proud, and truly touched by Amanda’s Tupperware story:

On my 30th day as a Consultant, I wanted to share with you all why I joined this amazing company and what a huge blessing it has been to my family! It is a long story, so grab a cup of coffee and sit back. This started a year ago; I worked for Publix Supermarkets for 20 years! I loved my job, but as a wife and mother of three amazing kids, the 50–60 hour work weeks were very difficult! My husband (also a manager for Publix) worked the same hours as I was. We began to pray—is there a way we could afford for me to stay home with our children? As I was the majority bread winner, I never thought it possible, but with God there is always a way.

We found our dream “farm,” a little five acre plot with two homes (one for my mother who lives with us) and a barn for the cows our boys show with 4H (and we love so much). It was $20,000 more than I had available in my retirement, so we made the offer of what we had and prayed. Well, our prayers were answered!! We got the house!!

Hannah and I are VERY close and we talk 4–5 times a day on the phone.

Fast forward a year later, and back in January I was talking to my “twin” sister Hannah. You see, we have always been “twins” in that we look alike, sound alike and act alike—however, we were born 11 years apart and have different moms! Hannah and I are VERY close (she lives in Ohio) and we talk 4–5 times a day on the phone. I was telling her about the tax bill we are expecting since I cashed in my retirement to buy our dream farm. Her response, “Sometimes you have to meet God half way.” It wasn’t a week later that she called and said, “God is waiting for you—are you ready?” Her good friend Khristina Croston called her and asked her if she would be interested in selling Tupperware. My sister tells her, “DO I HAVE SOMEONE FOR YOU!” That day Khristina called me and I immediately agreed to join her team! I was SO excited about this opportunity! I received my Business Kit on a Friday (2/6, I believe). I couldn’t wait to “dig in!”

Amanda and Hannah

The following Monday, I spoke with Hannah three times that morning. She was planning a trip down for a visit in a few weeks (We hadn’t seen her in almost a year and that was the longest we had gone in a LONG time). At 11am, my step-mom (her mom) called me and said Hannah had an accident. She was at work and they knew very little. She said they would call me when they knew more. I started to pray. Hannah is a strong, healthy 27 year old girl… I was sure she could make it through anything!!! At 3pm, my uncle called me and said the four words that I thought I would never hear: “Hannah didn’t make it.” This, by far, was the worst day of my life. She was half of my heart! My children adored her. How would we make it through this? We left for Ohio that night and were able to say our goodbyes.

I thought, if I am going to do this in honor of Hannah, I am doing it RIGHT!!

At the funeral, I was able to meet Khristina (my Director). When we returned home, I was distraught. I laid around the 1st week trying to figure out how I would live without my sweet girl. Then I saw my kit sitting in the dining room. Khristina already dedicated March to Hannah and I wanted to be a part of that. So I started making some calls, booked some parties and found the Confident Start sheet. I thought, if I am going to do this in honor of Hannah, I am doing it RIGHT!! I hung the sheet above my computer. My 1st goal was to pay off my kit. I thought that would be awesome! After my 1st two parties, my kit was paid for! Then my Director told me about Jubilee, Tupperware’s annual gathering of recognition and education. I really wanted to go, but to do so I had to have a new recruit. Well one wasn’t enough; I needed three (after Khristina told me about the wonderful things that happen when you become a Manager).

Because this is all for my sister, our team name became Hannah’s Angels.

By the end of the 2nd week, I had three people signed up on my team. Because this is all for my sister, our team name became Hannah’s Angels. Fast forward to this past Friday night. I have been selling for 29 days, and when I submitted my most recent party I was able to ORDER MY iPAD!!!! That is right; I made it through the Confident Start Program in 29 days!! Our team sold $9,000 in Tupperware our 1st month!

I just wanted to tell you that I believe having this business really helped me get through the grieving process. My sister is in heaven, so proud of everything we are doing—I am sure of it.

Thank you, Tupperware!
