Baby Food Made Easy by Kaycee Summers

It’s the little things in life that make me happy… like making homemade baby food! I love all the different ways of combining what kids might think of as “yucky” veggies with “yummy” fruits to make a delicious little meal for my baby. Making baby food quickly became not just part of my Sunday food prep, but I even did it a couple times a week just because it was so much fun!

It’s nice to know exactly what is in my baby’s food…

With my Tupperware® SmartSteamer and Power Chef™ System, I can prepare any concoction I want in less than 30 minutes! I prep the fruit and veggies, put them in the SmartSteamer to cook, then chop away and I am done! Simple, quick and easy! It’s nice to know exactly what is in my baby’s food, and it also has saved my family money by not needing to buy premade jars.

A few of my favorite products that make creating baby food a breeze:

  • SmartSteamer

Most recipes say to cook a sweet potato for 40 minutes in the oven, but they cook in only 15–20 minutes in the SmartSteamer.

  • Power Chef™ System

Great for chopping and pureeing baby food without having to get out and power up a big blender.

  • Chop ‘N Prep Chef

Ideal way to make a small amount of food, i.e. pureeing a banana or chopping up any kind of fruit.

  • Freeze-It™ Containers

These are great for a full meal for the baby as she started to eat more.

  • Twistable or Universal Peeler

Makes peeling vegetables so quick and easy.

Starting out, my first daughter loved sweet potatoes mixed with bananas, spinach mixed with apple sauce, and blueberries mixed with mango and avocado, just to name a few. As she became a little more adventurous, she enjoyed a ‘baby burrito’ which consisted of black beans and banana. A little weird but delicious!

I’ll be one multi-tasking momma!

Fast forward a few months and I now have a 2 month old and a 15 month old. In just a few short months, I’ll need to make two different sets of meals for both my girls. When that time comes, it’s a relief to know that I can make baby food for my youngest in the bottom level of the steamer base and be cooking food for my oldest in the upper level colander tray at the same time. I’ll be one multi-tasking momma! And with a little help from Tupperware and tips from your local Consultant, you can be, too.
